Who makes it
Shoo is made by Soifon, a web studio with offices in London, Vienna and Tirana. Soifon builds websites and online shops for other brands. Shoo is its own product.
Shoo is based in Albania and built in Tirana. The privacy policy and the terms of use say the same, and Albanian law applies to both.

What Shoo is today
A bug detector on this website. Photograph a cockroach, its droppings or an egg case, and Shoo tells you which species it is, how sure it is, and what works on it. Your first scan is free, and your email adds 2 more.
Next to the detector are guides to cockroaches and other household bugs, and answers to the questions people ask about pests at home.
An app for iPhone and Android is planned, with no date yet. The shop is closed for now: guides name the type of product to look for, and Shoo sells nothing yet.
How we decide what to tell you
Known fixes only
Plans suggest methods with a track record, like gel bait and sealing gaps. No folk remedies and no ultrasonic repellers.
Not sure means not sure
If a photo is too blurry to call, the detector asks for another one. It never guesses to give you an answer.
The label comes first
Where our advice and a product label differ, follow the label. Homes with children or pets get plans that keep everything out of reach.
