Bag on the rack
Keep luggage off the bed and floor, on the rack or in the bathroom.

Lift the sheet corner
Check mattress seams and the headboard for small dark spots and shed skins.

Scan anything odd
Scan it on the website, or compare it with the bed bug guide. If it is a bed bug, ask for another room.
Back home
Unpack outside the bedroom
If you had any doubt, open the suitcase in the hall or bathroom.
Hot wash
Wash and tumble dry travel clothes on the hottest setting the label allows.
